Cultivar Information
Cultivar Name: John's Surprise
Species: Clivia miniata
Breeder:
Record: Registered Cultivar
Description: Registered Cultivar: A peach selected by John O’Shea of Toowoomba, Queensland. The plant is from an open pollinated red Clivia in the garden of Peter Flemming and produces a good fan of leaves, each leaf being approx. 85-90mm wide by approx 500mm long. The peach flowers (D9 on Cape Clivia Colour Chart) fade to a pinky-peach. It is a poor self pollinator but readily accepts pollen from other Clivias. It does not offset well. It was expected to be a red but turned out to be a nice surprise!
