Description: Registered Cultivar: This plant is named in honour of his mother, by Richard Pacini of Sunnyvale California. The plant is the result of seed collected from a long established large bed of plants to solve a garden problem of deep shade on the north side of a private property. It is an extremely robust yellow C. miniata which first bloomed at 2 years old on 6 leaves with a single stem of 17 flowers. It started producing offsets at the first flowering. The solid green, straplike leaves are approx. 60cm long by 85mm wide. Plant stands about 48cm from the crown and flowerstems are held as high as 70cm with 32 flowers in the head. It will sometimes produce two stems per crown when flowering. Flowers are 9cm dia and the recurved tepals are 8cm long, opening a light yellow which matures to a rich butter yellow. The plant has survived temperatures as low as -3 degrees C. The plant is extremely robust, producing offsets very easily and has been used in a breeding programme in Northern California. This is not your demure slow Clivia!
