Cultivar Information
Cultivar Name: Tango
Species: Clivia miniata
Breeder: Bill Morris
Record: Registered Cultivar
Description: Registered Cultivar: a stunning Clivia miniata from Bill Morris breeding. The broad petal flowers have a large throat and the tepal tips are dark orange-red with white stripes and streaks. The flower is paler inside and darker outside. It is thought to be [(Clivia miniata orange x Clivia miniata yellow) X Clivia miniata yellow] but this is now questionable as the results of crossing group 1 yellows with ‘Tango’ has resulted in all pigmented seedlings that flower orange, not the expected 50% yellows. see also cultivars bred from ‘Tango’ such as ‘Lambada Dancer’, ‘Samba Magic’ and ‘Cha Cha Cha’.
