Cultivar Information
Cultivar Name: Emerald Dream
Species: Clivia miniata
Breeder: Willem van der Merwe
Record: Registered Cultivar
Description: Registered Cultivar: Beautiful bronze brick colour with full green throat flowers bred by Willem van der Merwe and registered by Chris de Vry. Petals are slightly recurving and overlapping. The green throat remains until the mature flower drops. Berry parent was C. miniata ‘Berties Bronze’ crossed with a C. miniata ‘Berties Bronze’ F1. ‘Emerald Dream’ pollen is plentiful and the flowers are self fertile, making it different to the original ‘Berties Bronze’ parent clone. Leaves are broad 65 to 75mm wide, typically less than 350mm long, dark green. The plant produces offsets freely and a number of mature plants exist. This is an ideal production plant for breeding green throat bronze C. miniata hybrids.
