Breeder: unknown
Record: Registered Cultivar
Description: This clivia has variegated orange flowers with striking white stripes radiating all over the tepals. The pure white stripes are pronounced and in strong contrast to the bright orange tepals with a yellow centre. This is a Belgium miniata sold under the name of Clivia miniata Belgium Hybrid. This unusual plant was bred in New South Wales and spotted at a garden centre by chance and purchased in Sydney. It is considered a rare mutation of a normal orange Clivia miniata Belgium Hybrid to produce this unique striped flowers. The plant is relatively small in size with leaves averaging about 30 to 35cm long and 5cm wide. The stripes are genetically stable as can be confirmed in the numerous flowering umbels with similar striped characteristics. The tepals are thick and have good substance. The flowers produce viable pollen and self fertilised readily. It is a vigorous grower. It is named in honour of the nominant’s wife.
