Description: This stunning Clivia was grown and named by Michael Riska and hybridised by his friend Kevin Akins. This is the second blooming season. Kevin has more of the same cross, only two bloomed resulting in orange umbels. Kevin obtained the seeds from Japan in 2005 and when they bloomed crossed ‘Multi Big Mouth’ X (‘Kabuki Hybrid X ‘Lost Orange’). ‘Kabuki’ is of Co60 breeding. The umbel has 28 creamy yellow flowers on a sturdy peduncle. The tepals are tipped with apricot/papaya based on the Cape Clivia Colour Chart.
The plant is named Mary Lou after my wife’s sister Mary Lou Powers. A photo of this plant will be entered in virtual shows and the Clivia Yearbook photo contest.
