Description
In March 2000, 24 flowers were pollinated in the cross of ‘WR’ and ‘ZC’. In 2008, 117 surviving seedlings flowered and one of the most promising double-flowered cultivars was evaluated in the greenhouse. In 2017 it was named for ‘Red Peony’. It is a double-flowered cultivar of 13 petals per flower on average. This cultivar has been published in HortScience on June, 2021: Chong Wang, Yang Song, Mingqian Wang, Jiajun Lei, Li Xue*, Shizhong He.
