Preserve, Recognise, and Celebrate Unique Clivia Varieties

Clivia Cultivar Register

Welcome to the official Clivia Register, maintained by The Clivia Society. This is the central hub for cataloguing and preserving named Clivia cultivars from around the world.

Whether you’re a grower, breeder, or enthusiast, registering your plant ensures that your cultivar is recognised, documented, and protected as part of Clivia's botanical heritage. It also helps maintain accurate records, avoid name duplication, and celebrate the diversity of Clivia.

The registry is for educational and informative purposes, and not for the promotion of individual breeders/growers/businesses.

The Value of Registration

Why Register Your Clivia?

Registering your Clivia isn’t just a formality — it’s a meaningful step that ensures your plant is recognised, remembered, and contributes to the broader Clivia community.

Name Recognition

Assign your unique cultivar an official registered name according to the set rules and guidelines.

Preservation

Ensure your plant’s characteristics and origin are preserved for future reference.

Global Visibility

Contribute to an internationally recognised database accessed by collectors, growers, enthusiasts and societies.

Education & Research

Help grow a knowledge base that supports breeders, researchers, and hobbyists worldwide.

Who Can Register a Clivia?

Registration is open to anyone who has cultivated or discovered a unique Clivia plant. Whether you’re a dedicated hybridiser with years of experience or a home gardener who’s grown something special, your contribution is welcome.

Clubs, nurseries, and plant societies are also encouraged to register noteworthy cultivars developed by their members or teams. This helps formalise breeding work, give credit to growers, and share standout plants with the global Clivia community.

By registering, you’re playing an important role in safeguarding the genetic diversity and horticultural history of the Clivia genus. Every entry strengthens the record and helps future generations of growers learn, breed, and celebrate these beautiful plants.
