Description
The cross of C. miniata ‘Jishi’ and C. miniata ‘Youjiang’ was carried out to breed deep red seedlings. One of the reddest individuals was selected and named ‘Red Star’ for its special deep red flower, which is popular with Chinese people. This colour implies joy, festivity and happiness in China. It is also beautiful for its reticulated (veined) leaf. The cultivar was exhibited in Shenyang Clivia Show in 2019.
