Secret Hope

Description

Registered Cultivar: It has semi-open salmon pink flowers on a sturdy medium sized plant. The umbel has improved as it matured. This plant was awarded Second Best on Show at the GRCC Interspecific Show in 2011. The berry parent is [Clivia miniata Coromandal orange X Clivia miniata Group 1 yellow] crossed with the pollen parent [ Clivia gardenii X Clivia miniata Group 1 yellow]. The breeding of this plant is outlined in Clivia Yearbook Vol Fifteen, page 76 published 2014. The plants in this series are said to be all smaller plants with broader leaves compared to the older varieties of interspecifics. This plant was named because even though the flowers were not all open when it was voted second best on show, the breeder could see the potential of the beautiful flowers.
